The South West Cycle Club are celebrating 20 years of cycling on Sunday 9th November 2008 in Dardanup.  There will be options to participate in one of three rides around the valley, to partake of a feed at the Dardanup Tavern and take a look back at the club’s history in stories and pictures from 12pm at the Tavern.

The Club also plans to unveil a  20 year anniversary jersey, see photographs of our past and present members in action, read newspaper articles about their humble beginnings in an exclusive display of
the club’s history.

Golden Spokes Charity Ride

The inaugral Golden Spokes Charity Ride is scheduled for October 26, 2008.  The Golden Spokes is a charity event organised in conjunction with Cycling WA by Citizen Advocacy South Metropolitan, a charitable community organisation helping people with a disability.

The ride has a race component, which is an Open Race and has been sanctioned by the state’s governing body Cycling WA as part of the State Road Racing Titles. The charity ride itself starts later and consists of a 32 km ride which is two laps of the race course.  There is also a short course ride, family ride and a wheel chair race.

The Great Bike Ride 2008 Map

The 2008 Great Bike Ride is scheduled for November 23, 2008 and as shown above will at this stage consist of three ride options, 106 km, 53 km and 10 km.  It should be noted however that the webpage is not updated at present but one can register for update notifications at the ride website.
