I just worked out where the "Redneck Campsite" is. It's a crude hut where Worsley workers go for "drinks" after their shifts before heading back to Perth or Bunbury, hence all the bottles and cans.

Hi Darryl

We did plan to complete it in seven days. Our or rather my average speed reflects my experience and fitness level at the time The Track is differently more suited to mountain bikes in my view (it is not a rail trail for example) but we did come across a guy on a touring bike. He seemed to be coping okay.

There are some "touring" options but even these where often hard going and involved some walking and single track.

All the best with your trip.

Regards
Andrew

Andrew,
Interesting report. It sounds like the track is not as 'flowing' as I imagined.
I am planning to ride Munda Biddi as far as Jarrahwood before linking up for the Great Escapade 2009 ride (Margaret River) and had planned taking only five days on my new Surly LHT . Was your average speed as good as I should expect or had you planned to spread it out over 7 days?
I am a bit concerned that I should be allowing at least 7 days or miss out some sections.
I would appreciate your thoughts.
regards,
Darryl

Good review of the Munda Biddi, Andy. How many k's has BOB done now and haw has the swivel joint held up close to the back wheel? I have a Giant Yukon with panniers, handlebar bage and I use a dry bag in the valley between the valley of the two panniers. Lots of stress placed on the back end and certainly changes the balance of the bike. I have heaps to carry due to my job so BOB may be one option wrth investigating but it needs to be up for it!
Cheers
