The purpose of this series of posting is to summarise my week on the bike and exercising in general. My week runs from Thursday to Friday, so Week 21 for 2010 is from May 21, 2010 through to May 27, 2010.
Walking distance is based on the use of a Global Corporate Challenge pedometer and their calculation that 1,563 steps equals 1 km. The Challenge officially started on May 20, 2010.

Another short week on the bike as I had disruptions to my riding over the weekend. Weekly average is 286 km a week. Would like to get back up to 400 km a week by year end. On the weight front, I started the year in a less than healthy position at 103 kg. My weight at the end of the week is 99.8 kg. My target for the month end is 98 kg. On BikeJournal.com I have dropped out of the Top 100 so now need to work on getting back there! 267 km off the pace. Hopefully over the next two months I will get that back. In respect to the Australian Cycling Forums Club at BikeJournal.com I now dropped out of the Top 10. Damn! |

Fremantle to Joondalup via the coast on the Look 555. I was a little concerned about this mornings ride given I completed the HBF Run for a Reason yesterday but thankfully one uses different muscles when walking/running than cycling or so it seems (well I could ride but hardly walk |

Joondalup to Fremantle on the Look 555. Pulled out of Joondalup about 15 minutes before dark so the ride was pretty much all in the dark. Wind was WSW at 13 km/h when I left but for the last hour was calm at 0 km/h. A real nice change! Took a slightly different route from normal which provides a safer entry to one of my two bad roundabouts. I think I will stick with this variation now. Mind you it cuts of 4 km from the ride. Traffic was good, bicycles not so good. Two riders without lights and one stupid girl who thought it was funny to run the red light just as I was about to enter the intersection. She wouldn’t have found it funny if I had taken her out … |
| Wednesday, May 26, 2010 | 45 km on the bike 0 km running 4 km walking |
Fremantle to Joondalup via the coast on the Look 555. Slept in and left late (there are some perks with this job |
| Thursday, May 27, 2010 | 27 km on the bike 0 km running 3 km walking |
Joondalup to Churchlands via the Freeway on the Look 555. Semi-dry ride home into SW winds gusting up to 69 km/h. Fun |
