The West Australian newspaper under new editorial leadership has published a favourable story on cycling in Western Australia. It is nice to see the paper taking a positive stance. The article quotes Neil Manning, CEO of Cycling WA”
“Cycling is like the new golf in that a lot of events take part on a regular basis whereby someone wants to enter an event and gets their friends, work buddies and business associates to make up a team,” he said.
“It is very much a networking sport, not just the elite high-performance side.”
… More people are expected to compete in the Tour de Perth in November than in last year’s event.
Interesting the BTAWA does not get a mention, with the article seemingly focusing more on the sporting aspect rather than including the commuting aspect. Still a positive start to better reporting in The West.
